***************Day 1******************
Calling all sisters and any interested parties!
Sakinah Forum Presents a 2 days event
What is the Essence
of Ramadan?
The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur'an, a
guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the
criterion (between right and wrong). (2:183-185)
As the blessed month of Ramadan approaches, the month in which the Glorious Quran was revealed, how should we prepare ourselves?
How should the Quran impact our lives during and after Ramadan? Do we truly use it as a criterion for our actions?
How do we draw closer to Allah when we know the gates of Paradise are open and the gates of Hellfire are closed?
Join us and find out the answers at this event.

********************Day 2 *******************
In the light of the negative media portrayal of Islam, post 9/11 and 7/7, why would anyone want to convert to Islam? Yet we find that 'there are 10,000 British converts to islam, predominantly white, middle-class women' (http://www.debate.org.uk/)
"If Islam is Oppressive why are
western women converting?"
The West claims to be at the forefront of liberating women.
It presents its values as the way forward for Muslim women who are often
considered oppressed and backward.
This seminar will discuss who are the oppressed and why
western women are increasingly converting to Islam.
